The Sheriff's Office has two substations in Arbor Vitae and Boulder Junction as well. The 27 total officers that comprise the Patrol Operations are also responsible for staffing the other non-traditional types of law enforcement that Vilas County offers. This includes the Emergency Response Team, consisting of 9 officers. Boat Patrol on the many bodies of water within the County are also carried out through Patrol Operations as well as winter Snowmobile Patrol.

The division has one Deputy assigned to Liaison duties in the largest school in the County, Northland Pines High School. The K-9 unit, Transport unit, Civil Service, and Court related duties are also carried out by the Patrol Unit.
